Setup
Information for the iMac
Before you begin please contact Customer Support at 1-877-531-7498 to set up your new account. Note: While you're setting up your new account please keep in mind usernames can be numbers and/or letters only, no spaces, start with a letter and be 12 characters maximum in length. Passwords can be numbers and/or letters only, no spaces, can start with either a number or letter, be 12 characters maximum in length and are case sensitive.
Set Up the Connection Icon
- Click on Apple Menu>Internet Access>Internet Setup Assistant.
The Internet Setup Assistant appears.
- It will ask you, "Would you like to set up your iMac to use the
internet?" Click Yes.
- Next it asks, "Do you already have an internet account?" Click
Yes.
- The next screen that pops up is the Introduction. Click on
the right arrow.
- It will ask you, "What would you like to name this configuration?"
Name it whatever you like such as EagleNet. For the section,
"How will you be connecting to the Internet?" make sure there
is a dot next to Modem. Click the right arrow.

Then comes the Modem Settings screen. For Modem: and
Port:, you should leave the default settings. Select whether
your phone line uses Tone or Pulse dialing. You may
leave Ignore dial tone? Blank. Click the right arrow.

Next is Configuration Information. Enter the number that is
local to you from the list below.

For your user ID, type the temporary user name: "visitor".
For password, type the temporary password: "eagle".
Click the right arrow.

PPP Connect Scripts is the next screen that appears. Under,
"Does your ISP require that you use a PPP Connect Script when you
log in?" Make sure No is checked. Click the right arrow.
- Next comes IP Address. Make sure there is a check next to No.
Click the right Arrow.
- Next is Domain Name Servers. The first box is the primary DNS,
type: 208.159.114.2. Click Return on your keyboard. Type the
secondary DNS: 208.159.114.6. You may leave the Domain Name box
blank. Click the right arrow.
- Then comes E-mail Address and Password. You will not have this
information until after you have filled out the online application.
You may leave this blank for now and click the right arrow.
- Next is E-mail Account and Host Computer. Again, you
will have to leave the e-mail address blank until you have signed up
for your account. In the e-mail host type mail.egl.net. Click the right
arrow.
- Newsgroup Host Computer is next. Type news.egl.net. Click the
right arrow.
- Proxies is the next screen. Make sure there is a check next
to No.
- The final screen comes up, Conclusion. You may leave the check
in the box next to Connect when finished, and click Go Ahead.
- You are now ready to sign-up. If you have not already contacted EagleNet Customer Support you may do so by calling 1.877.531.7498 to register for your new account. Once your account is created disconnect and login with your new account information.
- You will need to edit your user name and password. Click Apple
Menu>Control Panels>Remote Access. In the box next to Name:
enter the new user name you created. In the box next to Password:
enter the new password you created. You are ready to go!
